Views 28 set 09/2018

“TRANSFORMER” is a photographic project of work exploring roadside and urban street lighting in Chongqing, Paris, Riga, Marienborn, Leverkusen, Duisburg and Neuss. Photographer Robert Pufleb worked on the project for over three years and the result is a versatile and innovative analysis and perspective of an everyday object. The finished production was designed by Nadine Schlieper, a long-time collaborator with Pufleb, and Studio Rob van Hoesel.

The stiff-band brochure with open thread stitching uses Metapaper LINEN White 300gsm for the cover to create a stunning haptic and optic effect. The inside pages are produced using Metapaper EXTRASMOOTH 150 gsm for the graphic sections with the interview section, a conversation between Gregor Jansen, Mischa Kuball and Robert Pufleb, was printed with white ink on Mohawk LOOP VELLUM BLACK 118gsm. The technical implementation was undertaken by burger druck.

Prior to “TRANSFORMER” Robert Pufleb published “Alternative Moons”, winner of the Vienna Photo Book Award 2017. Alternative Moons was also designed by Nadine Schlieper. "TRANSFORMER" also received a GOLD placement for the Metapaper PRINT PROJECT OF THE YEAR AWARD 2019.
