Vinyl + Booklet
'Double Pages' is a free and ongoing project of the Düsseldorfer 'Open Studio'. The project plays on content styles, contrasts and similarities. Presented on two sides, two colours, two positions and, depending on the context, sometimes even two worlds meet - and at the same time open up space for individual interpretation by the viewer.
The project was started in February 2019 by the studio founders Julia Furtmann and Kai Hoffmann as part of a "Creative Mornings" lecture on symmetry. To mark the start a limited print edition was produced which deals with the topic on 32 'double pages'. The printing was done by Das Druckhaus on Metapaper ROUGH White Digital 240gsm and 100gsm.
Due to the special implementation of a 'Double Hit Black', a particularly deep black could be achieved on the white paper despite the rough surface and the digital print process. The matte printed image, even on closer inspection, is surprisingly close to an offset production and perfectly accompanies the clarity and contrast behind every single "double page”.
