ROUGH AIR offers a surface that falls between ROUGH and EXTRAROUGH. With 1.5 bulk - the highest volume in the entire Metapaper range - the name naturally says it all.

In terms of price, ROUGH AIR is our entry-level paper in the uncoated paper segment. In addition to an attractive price, the higher volume allows you to stick with a lower grammage. For example, instead of EXTRAROUGH 350 gsm, you can choose ROUGH AIR 300 gsm.

Another highlight is the extremely good opacity of ROUGH AIR. At a weight of 90 gsm, for example, it offers the same opacity as a 100 gsm standard uncoated paper. A brief digression: For the production of ROUGH AIR, the mill captures CO2 emissions and converts them into precipitated calcium carbonate. The precipitated calcium carbonate is extremely small and highly opaque and enables excellent sheet formation (especially in regard to papers with 1.5 times the volume) and maximum opacity. ROUGH AIR is an excellent example of how to protect the environment and improve a product at the same time.

With all its characteristics, ROUGH AIR is ideal for publications such as books, indie-magazines, brochures, and, of course, cards and envelopes (due to the great opacity).

ROUGH AIR is available in two attractive intermediate colors: White-Warmwhite and White-Coldwhite. You can find it in different weights from 90 gsm up to 300 gsm.

ROUGH AIR is our first product explicitly developed for inkjet printing. The results on Canon iX or Fuji are fantastic. Of course, ROUGH AIR is also suitable for all other printing processes such as Riso printing, HP Indigo, Letterpress, or Offset printing.
