…. is a standard coated paper. The paper is the same as MATT but is calendered as an additional step in the finishing process. The result is a glossier paper with slightly less bulk.
It is quite fascinating that calendering creates a different look, although in principle, GLOSS and MATT are the same paper. A matt finish reflects light in a different way than a glossy surface.
Glossy papers are currently used infrequently, because their finish and feel is perceived as artificial. They are often combined with uncoated paper with a natural look, for example in magazines – a conscious choice of contrasting textures.
GLOSS is available in White in 135 g/m2 to 300 g g/m2. The Scheufelen paper mill manufactures the FSC-certified paper. And PEFC-certified on request.
