The idea for the nose and mouth masks came from Hamburg-based packaging designer Uwe Melichar, who asked Metapaper and print partner BRAUN Denk und Werk to support his project for a local Hamburg customer. The requirement: To develop and implement the production of an everyday nose and mouth made from recyclable paper.
The resulting masks are produced from unprinted paper and are held secure by natural rubber straps. The paper used is comes from sustainable forestry and is recyclable – making these masks ideal for single-use.
In addition to their protective value the masks are also part of a cooperation with Arthelps – coming soon to paperhelp.io) – with the proceeds of printed masks going towards supporting a series of creative charitable projects.
Masks are available in packs of 10 for € 7.50 (including tax & shipping) in the Metapaper Shop. More information about Paperhelp can be found here.
